Michele Groppi is a lecturer, researcher, and expert in the fields of terrorism, counterterrorism, and radicalisation. He is currently affiliated with King’s College London, the European Foundation for Democracy, and the International Team for the Study of Security Verona. He has published several books and articles on topics related to his areas of interest.
He holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University, an MA in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, and a PhD in Defence Studies from King’s College London. His doctoral thesis focused on Islamist radicalisation in Italy, based on extensive field work and quantitative and qualitative analysis.
He is also an editorial member of the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism and a contributor to The Conversation, where he writes about current issues and challenges in international security.
